Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could help the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Planners tables.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
